To mark its 144th anniversary, NAGASAWA — one of Japan's most beloved stationery institutions — commissioned a fountain pen as singular as its history. Limited to just 100 individually numbered pieces, this pen is a quiet celebration of natural materials and enduring craft.
The body is shaped from dark brown briar wood, a material prized for its organic grain and warmth, and finished entirely without lacquer. This is an intentional choice: the wood breathes, ages, and responds to your hand. With regular use, the surface gradually deepens in tone and develops a rich, personal patina — a pen that becomes more beautiful the more you write with it.
The warm wood is complemented by rose gold trim, lending an understated elegance to the natural aesthetic. At the heart of the pen sits a 21K gold nib, combining the flexibility and refinement expected of Japanese fine craftsmanship.
