Sailor Raijin Welcoming the Dragon Limited Edition
Released in 2009, the Sailor Raijin Welcoming the Dragon Limited Edition was created in collaboration with master Maki-e artist Isshu Tamura, one of Japan's most respected lacquer artists. Limited to only 25 pieces worldwide, it stands as one of Sailor's most significant and collectible creations of the modern era.
The Design
The design depicts a majestic dragon meeting Raijin, the God of Thunder. In Chinese tradition, the dragon is a powerful symbol capable of ascending to the heavens, diving into the depths, summoning clouds, and bringing rain. Over time, it also became a symbol of imperial authority, prosperity, and good fortune. Through exquisite Maki-e craftsmanship, the dramatic encounter between the dragon and Raijin is brought vividly to life, expressing mankind's reverence for the forces of nature and the hope for blessings and success.
The Nib
Adding to its rarity, this masterpiece is fitted with Sailor's legendary 21K King Eagle nib. Featuring Sailor's unique three-layer stacked nib construction, the King Eagle is one of the rarest and most sought-after specialty nibs ever produced by the company, renowned for its distinctive writing characteristics and remarkable line variation.
