The Pelikan M1000 Maki-e Four-Leaf Clover was released in 2011 as a worldwide limited edition of just 88 pieces. Built on Pelikan's flagship M1000 body, it features an 18K gold nib.
Design Theme
The entire pen is dedicated to the four-leaf clover — a universal symbol of good fortune. The black lacquer body is adorned with clovers of varying sizes, among which 6 four-leaf clovers and 1 five-leaf clover are hidden, making the search for lucky clovers an integral part of the pen's design experience.
Maki-e Lacquer Artistry
Crafted on a black lacquer base, the pen undergoes multiple rounds of lacquer application, drying, and polishing. The design incorporates gold foil and mother-of-pearl (raden), giving the leaves and background a rich, shimmering luminescence that shifts beautifully under light.
