Namiki Nippon Art Ukiyo-e Ohisa Takashima
Part of the Namiki Nippon Art Collection, Ukiyo-e Ohisa Takashima is inspired by the celebrated work of Kitagawa Utamaro, one of the greatest masters of Japanese Ukiyo-e art.
Ohisa Takashima was a famous beauty of the Edo period and one of the renowned Three Beauties of the Kansei Era. Namiki recreates her graceful image on the deep black lacquered body, bringing together the elegance of Edo period Ukiyo-e and traditional Japanese lacquer craftsmanship.
The design is created using the traditional Hira Maki-e technique. Fine details of the figure, clothing, and decorative motifs are carefully rendered against the glossy black Urushi surface, capturing the refined character of Utamaro's original artwork.
Crafted by artisans of Kokkokai, Namiki's renowned group of Maki-e craftsmen, the pen is fitted with a No.5 14K gold nib, offering a smooth and refined writing experience.
