The Nakaya Writer Decapod ST Toki-tame combines the clean geometry of the ten-sided Decapod with the delicate beauty of traditional Japanese Urushi, finished with a clip in Nakaya’s Writer style.
The Decapod ST is crafted from ebonite with ten straight facets running along the body, creating a refined and elegant silhouette. The carefully finished edges interact beautifully with light, emphasizing the distinctive geometry of the pen.
Toki-tame is inspired by Toki-iro, a traditional Japanese color known for its soft pink tone. Layers of translucent Urushi are applied over the delicate pink base, creating warm depth while allowing the underlying color to appear more clearly along the edges of the ten facets.
With continued use and the passage of time, the lacquer gradually becomes more translucent, revealing more of the soft Toki color beneath. As each pen is individually finished by hand, subtle variations in color and appearance make every piece unique.
