This Nakaya fountain pen is based on the classic Cigar Portable, featuring a clean, clipless design combined with Sumiko finish and a Japanese sword themed maki-e decoration.
The entire body is finished in a deep matte black Sumiko lacquer, creating a subtle charcoal like texture with very little reflection. Against this understated surface, a Japanese katana is depicted in maki-e, its long and sharp silhouette complementing the simple lines of the Cigar Portable.
Crafted from ebonite and fitted with a 14K gold nib, the combination of matte charcoal black and katana maki-e gives the pen a quiet, restrained, yet powerful Japanese aesthetic.
