This exquisite Nakaya Cigar Piccolo fountain pen features the traditional Aka-Tamenuri urushi lacquer finish, meticulously applied over an ebonite body. The rich reddish-brown lacquer reveals subtle vermilion undertones along the edges and curves, creating remarkable depth and warmth. Over time, the lacquer gradually becomes more translucent, revealing the unique beauty of traditional Japanese urushi craftsmanship.
The most captivating detail is the silver nine-tailed fox roll stopper adorning the cap. This finely crafted ornament not only prevents the pen from rolling but also introduces an enchanting element inspired by Japanese mythology.
In East Asian folklore, the nine-tailed fox is a mystical creature often associated with wisdom, supernatural powers, and mystery. The contrast between the silver fox and the warm Aka-Tamenuri lacquer creates a beautiful harmony of traditional artistry and mythical symbolism.
Equipped with Nakaya’s renowned 14K gold nib, this exceptional fountain pen combines traditional Japanese lacquer craftsmanship, intricate metalwork, and timeless elegance, making it a distinctive writing instrument for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
