The Nakaya Cigar Long RYUKYU Kikyo presents the same distinctive Ryukyu inspired design in a deeper and more elegant color palette.
The design draws inspiration from Ryukyu Bingata, the traditional resist dyed textiles of Okinawa, celebrated for their vivid colors and richly decorated floral motifs. Colorful flowers are rendered across the body, creating a beautiful contrast against the deep Kikyo blue violet urushi background.
Compared with the bright and energetic vermilion version, the Kikyo version has a quieter and more mysterious character. Its rich blue violet lacquer changes subtly under different lighting, while the colorful floral decoration stands out beautifully against the darker background.
The pen uses Nakaya’s elongated Cigar Long body with a clipless design, allowing the decoration to flow naturally across its uninterrupted surface. The combination of the long, elegant silhouette and deep Kikyo lacquer gives the colorful Ryukyu motifs a refined and sophisticated appearance.
If the vermilion RYUKYU evokes the warmth and vibrancy of Okinawa in daylight, the Kikyo RYUKYU feels like a Ryukyu garden at night, with brilliant flowers emerging from a deep blue violet background.
