The Eboya × Maruzen “Akarenga” (Red Brick) is a special limited edition fountain pen created exclusively for the 15th Maruzen World Fountain Pen Fair, held in March 2024. Only 20 pieces were produced worldwide.
Inspired by the historic red-brick building that once housed Maruzen’s Nihonbashi store, this fountain pen is based on Eboya’s classic Hakobune M Size model and crafted from traditional Japanese ebonite, known for its smooth, warm texture.
The most distinctive feature is the 15 engraved brick patterns on the barrel, symbolizing the 15th anniversary edition of the Maruzen World Fountain Pen Fair. This thoughtful design pays tribute to Maruzen’s architectural heritage and long-standing history in Japanese stationery culture.
Equipped with a 14K gold nib, the pen combines Eboya’s exceptional ebonite craftsmanship with Maruzen’s rich heritage, creating a writing instrument that is both functional and historically meaningful.
Limited to just 20 pieces worldwide, this exclusive collaboration is a rare collectible for enthusiasts of Japanese fountain pens, Eboya craftsmanship, and Maruzen’s legacy.
