The Classic Pens CP7 Atlantic is the companion model to the CP7 Pacific, combining Sailor’s Japanese fountain pen craftsmanship with traditional European Guilloché engraving and a substantial sterling silver body.

A collaboration in sterling silver

Introduced in 2003 as part of the seventh edition of the Classic Pens CP Collection, the CP7 was created through a collaboration between Classic Pens, Sailor, and Murelli of France. The pen is crafted from sterling silver, giving it a satisfying weight and refined metallic presence.

Atlantic-inspired Guilloché

While the Pacific uses flowing, wave-like lines to evoke the calm expanse of the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic features a different Guilloché pattern designed to express the stronger, more dynamic character of the Atlantic. Precisely engraved across both cap and barrel, the pattern creates dramatic reflections and constantly changing highlights as the pen moves under the light.

Sailor Naginata Togi nib

This example is fitted with Sailor’s celebrated Naginata Togi nib. Its distinctive grinding geometry provides natural line variation according to writing angle: a more upright position produces relatively fine strokes, while a lower angle creates broader, richer, more expressive lines. Particularly well suited to Japanese and Chinese characters, it also adds distinctive variation to everyday handwriting.

A limited edition of 250

The CP7 Atlantic was limited to only 250 pieces worldwide. Its sterling silver construction, distinctive Atlantic-inspired Guilloché engraving, and iconic Sailor Naginata Togi nib make it an exceptional collaboration between Classic Pens and Sailor, bringing craftsmanship, writing performance, and collectibility together in one remarkable instrument.

Care note

Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time and may darken or develop a black tarnish. This is a normal characteristic of silver.
